Oh goody!!!! It is time for another Island Batik blog hop! I always enjoy participating in these. It is so wonderful to see so many talented people come together and share not only beautiful work, but beautiful fabric as well. This hop's theme is Back to School and today's fabric line is Empress Garden.
Now I could sit here and gush all day long about this line. Seriously, this has to be my favorite line so far. There were squeals of joy (and strange looks from my husband) when I opened my Ambassador box to find this line. It is just so bright and vibrant, and happy!
Enough gushing about the fabric and on to the main event. The theme this time is a fun one, but I was void of inspiration until the very last minute. I mocked up a lone star as you can see, but I've done quite a few lone star projects lately, and wanted to do something closer to the blog hop theme.
After a lot of thinking the idea for my crayon bag was born. I mean, who doesn't think crayons and bags for back to school right?! Now this is my first bag (unless you count Sweet Pea Pods), so figuring out the assembly was a lot of fun. They crayons are made up of Empress Garden fabrics, except the yellows, and one of the pinks. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
Thank you for taking the time to read about my Back to School project. Be sure to check out all of the other beautiful creations by Island Batik Ambassadors, and don't forget to enter the giveaways.
