Clue 5 - Unit C & Unit D

Important - All measurements pertaining to the smaller size of this quilt will be contained in brackets next to the larger size. 

For example:

Sew a 2 1/2" {2"} square to another 2 1/2" {2"} square to complete step.


Supplies:

  • 12 Fabric 1, 3 3/8" {2 5/8"} squares
  • 48 Fabric 2, smallest size triangles
  • 36 Fabric 2, 3 3/8" {2 5/8"} squares
  • 144 Fabric 1 triangles
  • Basic Sewing Supplies
  • Basic Cutting Supplies

Sewing:

  • Place 2 Fabric 2 triangles on opposite sides of a Fabric 1 square.
  • Line up the center of each triangle with the center of the square side.
  • Flip triangle right side down and pin, making sure to keep pieces lined up at centers. See example below.
  • Press toward the triangles.

  • Trim rabbit ears before starting the next step.
  • Repeat the previous steps with 2 more Fabric 2 triangles on the remaining sides of the square. See example below.
  • Press toward the Triangles.

  • Make 12 of these units and label them Unit C.
  • Finished unit size is a 4 1/2" {3 1/2"} square.

Repeat the above steps with the Fabric 2 squares and Fabric 1 triangles.


  • Make 36 of these units and label them Unit D.
  • Finished size is a 4 1/2" {3 1/2"} square.
